Professional PLM - raise your standards and your horizons |
|||||
Technia staged their PLM Innovation Forum on 28-29 April 2020. This was a competely on-line event, with a presentation on Professional PLM as the opening live session on Day 2. This presentation gave a concise overview of the opportunities created by Professional PLM, and it can be read now as an easy-to-understand guide. |
The aim of of the 30-minute session was straightforward - to explain to potentially 1500 delegates the benefits that come from a global drive toward professionalism in PLM. The presentation covered the reasons for forming a Profession; the Professional PLM Premise that we are working to; the coordinating impact of a global body; and the benefits in terms of career path. It went on to show how standards can be raised by the neutral Body of Knowledge that a profession must define, and also simply by applying a more professional approach to PLM implementation. Finally it highlighted how horizons can be expanded by extending a harmonised framework of PLM around the world. There is an annotated set of slides that you can skim through in 5 minutes. You can see the message, and decide whether you agree with it. We would be glad to have your feedback, or answer any questions, via presentation@professionalplm.org |
